Terms of Use

Chatty the Lab is an experimental research demo. It is offered free of charge, without warranties, and with no commitment to availability or to keeping your data.

Versión / Version 2026-08-13

1. Who provides this service

The service is operated by Manuel Couto Pintos, acting as an individual, reachable at manu.couto1k@gmail.com. This information is published under Article 10 of Spanish Law 34/2002 on information society services (LSSI-CE).

The project is developed as part of the author’s research activity, affiliated with CiTIUS at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. That affiliation is academic: the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela does not operate this service and bears no responsibility for it.

2. What this service is, and what it is not

Chatty the Lab lets you build, run and study multi-agent workflows expressed as graphs, connecting to third-party language models using credentials you supply yourself.

It is a research demo under active development. That is not a politeness — it describes how you should use it.

  • There is no availability commitment, no announced maintenance windows and no guaranteed backups.
  • Features, data formats and schemas may change or disappear without notice, taking the associated data with them.
  • The service may be interrupted or shut down permanently at any time.
  • It has not undergone an independent security audit.

So: do not use it as a system of record, or as the only place something you care about is stored. Export anything you need to keep.

3. Access, account and minimum age

You need an account to use the service. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you provide and for keeping control of your sign-in credentials and your email address.

The service is intended for people aged 14 or over — the age from which Article 7 of Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD) allows a minor to consent to the processing of their own data. If you are under 14, do not use the service.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. See section 11.

4. AI provider keys

The service does not include access to language models. Each user configures their own credentials for OpenAI, Google, Mistral, NVIDIA, Hugging Face, or their own Ollama server.

Those keys are stored encrypted with AES-GCM and are never shown back once saved. Even so, you are handing a credential to an experimental system, and that carries a risk we cannot fully remove. So we specifically ask that you:

  • use keys dedicated to this service, never the ones you use in production;
  • grant them the minimum permissions needed and set a spending limit in your provider’s dashboard;
  • revoke them from your provider as soon as you stop using the service, or at the first sign of anything wrong.

Usage, billing and compliance with each provider’s own terms are your responsibility. Whatever your runs cost is charged by your provider, not by us.

5. What you may upload, and what you may not

You keep all rights over the content you enter. You grant us only what is needed to host and process it in order to provide the service to you.

You must not put into the service:

  • personal data about other people — including patients, study participants, students or clients — even if partially anonymised;
  • special categories of data under Article 9 GDPR (health, ethnic origin, beliefs, genetic or biometric data, sexual orientation), whether yours or anyone else’s;
  • unlawful content, content infringing third-party rights, or content you are not authorised to share;
  • material intended to compromise the security of the service, its infrastructure or other users.
This is the most important prohibition in the document. The service does not offer the safeguards the GDPR requires for processing health data or other people’s data, and there is no data processing agreement in place to cover it. If you enter personal data about others, you are acting outside these Terms and as a controller on your own account. For clinical or human-subject research, use synthetic data or published cases.

6. AI-generated content

You are interacting with artificial intelligence systems. We tell you so explicitly, in line with Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the AI Act).

Language model output can be inaccurate, out of date, fabricated or biased, including when it is delivered confidently and in a convincing format. Always verify before acting on it.

The service provides no medical, health, legal, financial or other professional advice, and its output must not be used to make diagnostic, therapeutic, legal or financial decisions. The existence of clinically themed example graphs does not change this: they are research exercises about how multi-agent systems behave, not clinical tools and not medical devices.

7. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • use the service for unlawful activity, or to generate unlawful or harmful content;
  • attempt to reach other users’ data, or parts of the system you are not authorised to access;
  • run load tests, scans or penetration tests without prior written permission;
  • automate usage in ways that degrade the service for others, or circumvent technical limits;
  • resell access or present the service as your own.

If you find a vulnerability, we would be grateful if you wrote to manu.couto1k@gmail.com before disclosing it.

8. Availability and data loss

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that it will run uninterrupted or error-free, or that its results will be correct or fit for any particular purpose.

Data may be lost through failures, migrations, deployments or shutdown. Keep your own copies of anything you need.

9. Limitation of liability, and its limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, and this being a free and experimental service, we are not liable for: unavailability or data loss; damage arising from decisions taken on the basis of model output; loss of profit or of opportunity; costs you incur with third-party AI providers; or damage caused by using the service in breach of these Terms, in particular section 5.

That said, some liability cannot lawfully be excluded, and we do not attempt to exclude it. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence; for death or personal injury; liability under Article 82 GDPR for damage caused by processing that infringes that Regulation; or any mandatory rights you have under Spanish consumer law (Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007). Any clause here that would be unfair under Directive 93/13/EEC is treated as not written, without affecting the rest.

10. Third-party services

The service relies on infrastructure and model providers operating under their own terms: Supabase, Cloudflare, and whichever model provider you configure. We are not responsible for their actions, outages or decisions about the content you send them. Which data reaches whom is set out in the Privacy Policy.

11. Term and termination

You may stop using the service whenever you like and delete your account from Settings, which erases the personal data associated with it. If you belong to or created a team, you will need to resolve that first, because deletion would affect other people’s data.

We may suspend or terminate access, with or without notice, on breach of these Terms, on a security risk, or on shutdown of the service.

12. Changes

We may amend these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Each version is identified by a date. Where a change is material you will be asked to accept again before continuing to use the service; if you do not accept, you will still be able to sign in to export your data and delete your account.

We keep a record of which version you accepted and when. See the corresponding section of the Privacy Policy.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Spanish law.

If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your own domicile under Article 18 of Regulation (EU) 1215/2012, and the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of habitual residence. Otherwise, the parties submit to the courts of Santiago de Compostela.

These Terms are published in Spanish and English. In the event of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.
